Editorial

The department of Isère benefits from a wealthy environment. But today threatened by various factors, we have to protect it.

In the framework of its sustainable development policy, the General Council has decided to protect and restore the ecological corridors, natural areas used by wildlife for their movement of biotic factors.

Following the establishment of the ecological network of the Department in 2001 and the choice of 10 priorities among the 320 conflict points identified, it was necessary and urgent to launch concrete and united actions.

First public collectivity to involve itself in the concrete protection of the ecological network, the General Council has led a number of punctual action such as the creation of underpasses of the Grand Lemps, Bonnefamille or soon of the Herretang.

But now facing the situation fo the cluse of Voreppe and of the valley of Grésivaudan, the General Council has launched an ambitious project on several years supported by all the partners involved.

The validation by our project by the european commission allows us to carry out the project "Paths of life" with all partners: the Region Rhône Alpes, AREA, the Rhone Mediterranean and Corsica Water Agency, the embankment association of Isere, Drac and Romanche, as well as all the operational actors.

The project "Paths of life" is the  result of a long work and the beginning of a big adventure.

I wish you a great discovery of the project!

Serge Revel, elected member of the General Council for the environment
