The second objective "Resolution of the conflict points" is made of 6 measures.

All the planned buildings aim to help the free movement of the fauna over or under the roads and motorways.

For all the buildings which have an impact on the aquatic environment, the national department of the forest and the agriculture has to be informed and to give his agreement.

The Federation for the fishing and the protection of the aquatic areas has led this administrative part.

• Land purchase

As to settle the detectors, it is necessary sometimes to buy a land or someland, because the public area is not large enough for example.

• Fauna thermal detector system

This detector system should prevent accidents on the roads with the fauna. When a presence of fauna will be detected, a signal will be sent to inform the drivers that an animal is around and could cross the road anytime. This system used in Switzerland has proved its effectiveness by reducing the number of accidents to zero.

• On the motorways
  • Study concerning a potential overpass above the motorway A41 between Pontcharra and Chapareillan
  • Modification of hydraulics works such as the creation of banks out of the water, fittings of surroundings,...
  • Modification of overpass such as the modification of fences, of the roadway, of the guardrails,...

• On the roads
  • Equipment of the roads 1085 between the towns of Moirans and La Buisse: 2 underpasses are planned in the area where a lot of accidents with the fauna occurs
  • Improvement of the hydraulic equipment of the river Furet: This existing hydraulic equipment will be fitted so that the animals can use it instead of crossing the road (modification of the surroundings, creation of steps,...)

• In the town of Le Cheylas

There is a sensitive area for batracians, where they get run over by cars while crossing the road during their reproduction cycle. An underpass will be built to allow them to cross the road safely and to prevent them from extinction.

An underpass is planned to protect the fauna while crossing the road. This area has been identified as sensitive in cooperation with the hunters.

The motorway A48 splits up the area of the cluse of Voreppe. The kind of equipment, compulsory now on the new motorways, was not considered at the time. AREA is partly in charge of the fitting.

• Rehabilitation of the confluence of the river Le Ruisset

The Ruisset: a step impossible to overcome

The free movement of the aquatic fauna is not possible at the moment due to previous equipments. That's why this river will find its previous course after the works.

• Creation of a fish pass on the river Bréda

2 steps stop the aquatic fauna to swim back up the river. These 2 steps will be partially destroyed. The town of Pontcharra has taken this equipement in charge.

• Creation of ramps along the river Isère in the cluse of Voreppe

The Isère embankment stops the fauna from accessing the river. Some equipments will be created by the departmental association Isère Drac Romanche;

• Restoration of the riverbanks of Coisetan

The surroundings of the Coisetan will be improved as to be more attractive for the animals. This action is also followed in the department of Savoie within the framework of the Corridors agreement of Métropole Savoie.
