Why now? The obvious answer is the emergency of the situation of course but as all the partners were ready to get into action, the general council has decided to act. Without the support of all the partners and their mobilization, it wouldn't have been possible to imagine all those actions.
All the partners have participated in the different steering committees ( There are 3 steering committees, one for each area: the high Grésivaudan, the medium Grésivaudan and the cluse of Voreppe). The members of those committees are the communes, the groups of communes, fischermen's association, hunters' association, environmental protection associations, farmers, natural area's managers, infrastructures' managers,... All those people concerned by the subject were able to express their opinions.
In 2003, in order to deepen the knowledge on the cluse of Voreppe, a second study was led in collaboration with AREA (Study of Econat - Corridors of the cluse of Voreppe). One road was chosen out of 6 by the committee.
In 2004, on the same methodology, the Agency of Urbanism for the Region of Grenoble led a study on the valley of Grésivaudan and established an action plan to protect and restore the corridors ("Pour un aménagement du territoire intégrant et valorisant les corridors écologiques de la vallée du Grésivaudan - Diagnostic et propositions d'actions" - AURG).
Following those complete studies, it has been decided to launch a global project to preserve and restore the corridors at the same time in the valley of Grésivaudan and in the cluse of Voreppe.
