The General Council of Isère is partner of the european project Econnect. This project aims at protecting the biodiversity in the Alps by restauring the connectivity accross the Alpine Region.

In this project, the Department intervenes in 2 workpackages "Implementation" and "Knowledge transfer". The first one is about concrete actions to reconnect the Alps. The first step of this workpackage is to achieve a detailed map and description of the resalisation of the network in different pilot regions.

Within the second one "Knowledge transfer", the Department of Isère organised in november with the Cemagref of Grenoble and the University of Innsbruck an international scientific meeting. This meeting will join together the partners as well as all the people involved in the ecological connectivity who will discuss and share their knowledge in order to discuss and demonstrate needs and options for actions as well as to develop innovative instruments for ecological connectivity. It will be the opportunity to exchange  common methodological tools and concepts for a common understanding of the project aims.
